Harvest Preparatory School was founded in 1986 by Pastor Rod and Joni Parsley and is located on the campus of World Harvest Church.

Bus Driver / Special School Events

World Harvest Church, a global ministry in Central Ohio, has an exciting opportunity for experienced bus drivers that desire to use their talent to impact the world. World Harvest Church is one of today’s most influential churches, led by statesman, humanitarian and New York Times best–selling author, Pastor Rod Parsley. This ministry with its world–wide platform is affecting every strata of society spiritually, educationally, economically and culturally through the expanse of the Breakthrough television program which airs 24 hours a day/ 7days a week on major TV stations and affiliates. The Bus Driver opening is an as needed part–time casual position. The ideal candidate must have a successful and verifiable work history of at least 2–3 years in the area of transportation.

  • Bus drivers to provide transportation with school–related activities, i.e. field trips, sporting events, etc. throughout the Columbus Metro area.
  • Adhere to all Federal regulations and to all additional State of Ohio requirements.
  • Preserve order on the bus and enforce school safety regulations, permitting only those authorized to ride.
  • Provide transportation for special church events.
  • The driver must be at least 21 and have at least a class B CDL with a passenger and school bus endorsement and authorized to work in the United States.
  • 2–3 years minimum experience with public or private bus transportation and must be extremely safety–conscious.
  • Valid Ohio driver’s license with a good driving record and be insurable.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED and at least 2–3 years of a verifiable .employment history with the ability to communicate effectively both orally and written for the purpose of public interaction and report writing.
  • Must successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
  • First Aid/CPR certified a plus.
  • Willing to work any day of the week including weekends.

Long Term Substitute Teacher

Harvest Preparatory School is seeking a Substitute Teacher for a long–term assignment starting in January.

  • Be a Christian role model in attitude, speech, and actions toward others and develop and maintain rapport with students, parents, and staff by treating others with friendliness, dignity, and consideration.
  • Demonstrate excellent teaching skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal skills, administrative skills, problem–solving skills, and advanced knowledge of various teaching materials.
  • In the absence of the regular classroom teacher to help students to learn subject matter and/or skills that are required for scheduled lessons and to provide meaningful instruction for assigned classrooms.
  • Carries out a program of study prescribed in the lesson plans left by the classroom teacher and has the ability to provide meaningful learning in the absence of a lesson plan.
  • Must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Three or more years of teaching experience, and highly knowledgeable about teaching students about content and skills in the applicable subject area; performs other related duties as directed.
  • Possess a valid teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education and a Non–Tax Teaching Certification issued by the Dept. of Education of Ohio.
  • Successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.

Principal - Lower Elementary Grades
  • Oversee all activities involving students and faculty in the Lower Elementary program.
  • Provide collaborative leadership in the following areas:
    • Enhance academic achievement of students
    • Assist student recruitment
    • Internal and external communication
    • Curriculum development and instructional improvement
    • Maintain a positive, safe and orderly student environment
    • Recruitment, hiring, orientation, supervision and evaluation of personnel
    • School improvement and staffing plans
    • Implement policies and procedures
    • Enhancement of community confidence
    • Participate in professional organizations
    • Set and maintain spiritual atmosphere
  • Maintain congruency between the school's mission statement, statement of faith, and educational philosophy in all activities of the Elementary program
  • Serve as the educational leader of the Elementary program, responsible for its day-to-day operations; direct the activities of the members of the Grades PK-6 instructional staff and the non-instructional staff assigned to the Elementary program in the performance of their duties
  • Function as the chief articulator of Elementary programs, expectations, behavioral guidelines, and other information necessary to ensure that all constituencies are fully informed consistent with their individual roles
  • Observe, supervise, and help evaluate faculty in the development and implementation of curriculum; supervise the teaching process, and periodically review and evaluate the academic programs.
  • Lead in the articulation of the school mission, school goals, course objectives, instructional methods and means of assessment as they relate to the Elementary program
  • Provide and encourage a loving, nurturing, supportive and orderly environment in which learning can take place; a school climate which is supportive of all persons and which reflects high morale and relationship among staff and students
  • Constitute an awareness of the academic, spiritual, physical, social, and emotional needs of the members of our school community, and develop plans for meeting those needs
  • Ensure compliance with legal requirements of government regulations and agencies; maintain the educational standards established by the state of Ohio
  • Make recommendations to the Head of School regarding the hiring, retention, and the assignment of faculty and classrooms
  • Establish programs for the orientation of new teachers to ensure that teachers are well prepared for success and are familiar with and adhere to school policies in all areas
  • Coordinate and provide for the evaluation of classroom teachers, for enrichment and remediation and for in-service training.
  • Strive for unity and cooperation within the faculty community through tact, helpfulness, respect, and recognition of individual differences, unique abilities and strengths of each teacher
  • Conduct regular meetings within faculty concerning both routine school matters and the stimulating exchange of ideas on issues of education/philosophical interest and concern
  • Oversee the coordination of the co-curricular and extra-curricular activities and programs; assist in the planning and the presentation of chapels, school assemblies and programs; assist in maintaining a comprehensive calendar of school events; keep the entire school community informed of these various student organizations and activities.
  • Provide for the academic guidance of students in ensuring their proper placement in course content for appropriate challenge and readying them for the next level
  • Maintain complete student records including grades, attendance, academic testing, health, behavioral infractions and confidential files
  • Oversee the grading process and the lesson plans, mappings, and methods used by teachers in measuring student achievement
  • Ongoing and weekly parent/guardian communications
  • Be responsible for maintaining reasonable guidelines for upright student conduct and dress in congruence with established school policies
  • Be a visible presence in all areas of the lower school; work toward a resolution of all problems- both routine and unique- as they arise; keep the Head of School informed of the general programs, activities, and problems of the school
  • Supervise appropriate lower school teacher class schedules, assign teachers and students to classes, assist in developing field trip plans, and community acts of love
  • Serve as a consultant to teachers in matters of classroom management, teaching methods, and general school procedures
  • Assist in the admission process for the testing, interviewing, and evaluating of applicants for enrollment
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School

  • Employs instructional methods and materials that are most appropriate for meeting lesson objectives.
  • Maintains a neat, orderly and safe classroom.
  • Takes attendance in accordance with school procedures.
  • Insures that the students are never left unattended in the classroom.
  • May perform duties usually required of absent teacher such as lunchroom duty, hall monitoring, etc.
  • Knows emergency evacuation routes for the classrooms assigned.
  • Knows procedures for referring students who are disciplinary problems.
  • Knows school procedures and regulations and consistently follows HPS policies.
  • Performs other related duties as directed.
  • Two or more years of teaching experience, and be highly knowledgeable about teaching students about content and skills in the applicable subject area.
  • Must possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
  • Hold a current teacher license in the State of Ohio and or be eligible to hold a teaching certificate/Non-tax certificate issued by the Ohio Department of Education.

Transportation Coordinator

Harvest Preparatory School continually provides a private and distinctive Christian and education to the Columbus area.
